TEAM OFFSITE TRAINING

Take the Team Away. Bring Something Better Back.

Step away from the usual meetings, inboxes and day-to-day pressure and give your team time to work on how they communicate, collaborate and perform together.

WeTrain creates practical, engaging team offsite training around what your team actually needs, whether that is better communication, stronger working relationships, leadership, conflict, collaboration or a reset after change.

STEP OUT OF THE DAY-TO-DAY

Sometimes the Team Needs a Different Room and a Different Conversation

It is hard to talk properly about how a team works when everyone is still surrounded by the work itself.

The emails keep coming.

The phone rings.

Someone is late for the next meeting.

A team offsite creates space to step out of the normal rhythm and focus on things that are easy to keep postponing.

WeTrain gives those conversations structure, practical training and an experienced facilitator who knows how to keep the room involved.

And yes, people should enjoy the day too.

How are we communicating?

Where are we getting stuck?

What do we need from each other?

What could we do differently?

What do we want this team to feel like when we go back?

WHAT DOES YOUR TEAM NEED RIGHT NOW?

You Do Not Need to Come to Us With a Training Course

Tell us what is happening in the team.

We can help work out what the offsite should focus on.

“We Are a Good Team, But We Could Work Better Together”

Focus on communication, collaboration, working styles and team expectations.

“We Have New People and the Team Feels Different”

Create stronger connections, clarify how people work and establish common ways of communicating.

“There Has Been a Lot of Change”

Give people time to reset, reconnect and work through what effective collaboration now looks like.

“Our Managers Need to Lead the Team Better”

Bring leadership, communication, coaching, feedback and difficult conversations into the offsite.

“People Are Avoiding Difficult Conversations”

Work on communication, conflict, feedback and having clearer conversations earlier.

“Different Parts of the Team Are Working in Silos”

Focus on cross-team communication, understanding roles, collaboration and shared outcomes.

“We Want the Team to Have Some Fun, But We Also Want the Day to Mean Something”

Perfect.

That is exactly where a WeTrain offsite can work well.

Tell us what is happening in your team and we’ll help shape the day.

FUN + USEFUL

Engaging Does Not Have to Mean Gimmicky

There is a place for team-building games.

But nobody wants to spend a full day doing activities that are fun in the moment and have nothing to do with how the team actually works.

WeTrain can make the day interactive, relaxed and enjoyable while still giving people something worthwhile to take back to work.

Talk

Give people space to have conversations that are difficult to fit into a normal working week.

Practise

Try different approaches to communication, feedback, decision-making or conflict.

Move

Use activities and exercises that get people out of passive listening mode.

Laugh

Good training can have energy. It does not need to feel corporate and heavy.

Challenge

Give the team a chance to question habits, assumptions and the way things are currently done.

Commit

Finish with practical agreements about what will happen differently afterwards.

SEE THE TEAM IN ACTION

Sometimes the Best Learning Happens When the Team Has Something to Solve

One strong offsite option is to incorporate a facilitated team exercise or simulation.

The team receives a challenge.

They need to discuss it, make decisions, divide responsibilities and work towards an outcome.

The trainer observes how the group works.

Then everyone debriefs what happened.

What Can Show Up?

The important part is the debrief.

It turns an enjoyable exercise into useful insight about how the team actually operates.

BRING SOMETHING BACK

Do Not Let the Offsite End When Everyone Leaves the Venue

A good day can create energy.

But energy disappears quickly if nothing changes afterwards.

WeTrain can finish the offsite by helping the team agree on a small number of practical commitments.

Not corporate values written for a wall.

Actual things the team agrees to do.

For Example

The final commitments should come from the team itself.

That gives people something simple and useful to take back into everyday work.

YOUR PEOPLE, NOT A GENERIC WORKSHOP

We Want to Know What Is Really Going On

Before the offsite, we can talk with the person organising the day about the team.

You do not need to give us every detail.

But useful context can include:

  • Why the offsite is happening
  • Who will attend
  • How long the team has worked together
  • Recent changes
  • Current challenges
  • Communication issues
  • Leadership changes
  • Areas of tension
  • What already works well
  • What people tend to avoid
  • What you want to be different afterwards

From there, we can shape:

  • The trainer
  • Training topics
  • Discussion questions
  • Exercises
  • Scenarios
  • Timing
  • Level of challenge
  • Team activities
  • Final commitments
OPTIONAL PREPARATION

Want to Understand the Team Before the Day?

For some offsites, it may be useful to gather a little input before everyone arrives.

Depending on the requirement, this could include:

Organiser Brief

A conversation with the manager, HR or L&D contact.

Short Team Questionnaire

Ask participants what is working, what gets in the way and what they would like from the day.

Leadership Input

Understand the challenges leaders are seeing.

Existing Team Material

Review relevant internal information supplied by your organisation.

Modern Research Tools

Where useful, WeTrain may use modern research tools, including AI, to support preparation, organise information and identify themes.

AI does not decide what your team needs and it does not replace the facilitator.

The final offsite is shaped by experienced training professionals using your input, workplace context and trainer judgement.

GET OUT OF THE USUAL ROOM

Your Venue. Your Team. We Bring the Training.

A Team Offsite can happen wherever makes sense for your people.

Hotel or Conference Venue

A simple option for teams wanting a professional space away from the office.

Retreat or Regional Venue

Give the team more physical distance from the everyday workplace.

Meeting or Event Space

Useful where you want a purpose-designed room without turning the day into a full retreat.

Your Own Off-Site Location

Already have somewhere in mind? WeTrain can work around it.

Your Workplace

Technically not very “offsite”, but if getting everyone away is impractical, the same team-development approach can still be delivered on-site.

Multiple Locations

If several teams are running offsites in different locations, WeTrain can help create a consistent approach.

WeTrain focuses on training and facilitation. Your organisation would normally arrange the venue, catering, travel and accommodation unless something different has been agreed.

MAKE THE ROOM WORK

Please, Not Rows of People Staring at a Screen

Where the venue allows it, WeTrain generally wants participants to be able to see and interact with each other.

For a focused team workshop, that may mean a U-shaped room setup or another layout that supports discussion, activities and facilitator movement.

That gives the trainer room to work with the group instead of standing at the front delivering a lecture.

For larger groups or different activities, we can recommend another setup based on what is planned.

ONE TEAM

How Many People Can Take Part?

Team Offsite Training works best when the format matches the size of the team.

Around 6 to 20 People

Ideal for a highly interactive team offsite with discussion, exercises, scenarios and plenty of participation.

20+ People

Still possible, but we may adjust the exercises, split participants into smaller groups or change how discussions are facilitated.

Larger Teams

We can use breakouts, multiple trainers or different training streams where required.

A typical WeTrain training group is often around 12 people, although the right format depends on what you want the team to do during the day.

FLEXIBLE FORMAT

Give the Team the Time the Outcome Needs

90-Minute Session

Useful when training is one focused part of a wider offsite.

Half-Day Offsite Training

Enough time to go properly into one or two priorities while leaving room for your own team agenda.

Full-Day Team Offsite

Allows for deeper discussion, exercises, multiple themes and practical commitments.

Multi-Day

Suitable where leadership development, team dynamics or several priorities need more time.

Multi-Session Follow-Up

The offsite can also become the starting point for further training rather than trying to solve everything in one day.

CLEAR EXPECTATIONS

WeTrain Brings the Development. You Can Add the Rest.

WeTrain is not trying to become your venue company, travel agent or Amazing Race provider.

We specialise in workplace training and facilitation.

That means you can build the wider offsite around whatever suits your team.

Morning coffee by the water.

Great lunch.

Dinner afterwards.

A hike.

Golf.

A cooking class.

Something completely ridiculous that everyone will talk about for months.

Then use WeTrain for the part where the team learns, talks, practises and agrees on what changes back at work.

That gives you the fun of an offsite without losing the opportunity created by having everyone together.

YES, BUT WITH A PURPOSE

More Than a Team-Building Activity

WeTrain sits firmly on the development side.

You can absolutely make the day fun.

But the reason to bring WeTrain in is that your people should leave with a better understanding of themselves, each other and how the team will work together.

TEAM OFFSITE FAQs

Planning a Team Offsite?

Team Offsite Training is focused workplace development for a team meeting away from its normal working environment.

Rather than simply giving the team a day out, WeTrain uses the time to work on areas such as communication, collaboration, leadership, conflict, working styles or team effectiveness.

The exact content is tailored around why the team is going offsite and what you want to be different afterwards.

Absolutely.

Interactive training should have energy, conversation and moments people actually enjoy.

WeTrain can incorporate exercises, team challenges, discussion and lighter activities into the session. You can also combine the training with your own lunch, social activities or wider event plans.

The aim is not to turn the day into eight hours of classroom training.

Yes.

Before the offsite, WeTrain can talk with the organiser about the team, current challenges, recent changes and what you want the day to achieve.

We can then shape the trainer, discussion, exercises and learning around relevant themes without turning the day into a public airing of confidential individual issues.

There is no fixed maximum.

Smaller teams create more opportunity for whole-group discussion and detailed exercises. As participant numbers increase, WeTrain can use smaller breakout groups, different activities or multiple trainers where appropriate.

We can recommend the format once we know the number of participants and what you want the team to work on.

WeTrain’s primary role is the training and facilitation component.

Your organisation would normally organise the venue, catering, accommodation, travel and external recreational activities unless something different has specifically been agreed.

If you already have a venue and wider agenda planned, WeTrain can shape the training around it.

Yes.

A leadership offsite can focus more deeply on leadership behaviours, communication, constructive challenge, decision-making, coaching, accountability and how the leadership team works together.

Yes.

For example, a team offsite could combine communication, working styles, conflict management and collaboration.

A leadership offsite could combine leadership, feedback, coaching and difficult conversations.

WeTrain can help select areas that work together so the day feels connected rather than like several unrelated courses.

The offsite can finish with practical team commitments, individual actions or a clear agreement about how the team wants to work differently.

Where deeper development is required, WeTrain can also recommend follow-up workshops or a multi-session training program.
